It is the endless daylight of the midnight sun that enables us to offer you a day tour from Kiruna to the Lofoten archipelago in the north atlantic ocean! A very personal journey through breathtaking landscapes from the Swedish tundra to the Norwegian coast and back in one day. We invite you to smell the salty air and the seasgrass. We recommend you to taste the seafood from one of the cleanest oceans on earth. And we provide the transfer back to the mainland as a mini-cruise by ferry over the open sea.
We meet you at your hotel/hostel in Kiruna at 7.00 AM. From Kiruna towards west we will pass small settlements and wide open swamp areas. Following parallel to the railroad tracks of the Kiruna iron ore train we will soon reach lake Torneträsk - the 6th largest lake in Sweden and the largest of more than 6200 lakes in the municipality of Kiruna. We will pass Abisko - world famous for fantastic aurora borealis and the U-shaped valley Lapporten ("The Lapponian Gate"). High alpine landscape and vegetation around Riksgränsen will visualize the spot to pass the border to Norway
PLEASE NOTE: IT IS IN YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE VALID TRAVEL DOCUMENTS TO ENTER NORWAY !
We will pass the solitary located holiday cabins with the typical grassed roofs in Björnfjell and the winding road down towards the Norwegian coast. Rich vegetation and agricultural landscape seams the way towards the Lofoten; Deep fjords and high mountains will make you use your camera during several stops on our way. App. 1.00 PM we will arrive in Henningsvaer. We recommend a walk in this picturesque fishing village and lunch at Fiskekrogen or Finnholmen
